Sports entertainment technology firm provides full in-game graphics package for Reds’ new HD video board

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 19, 2009) – As the Cincinnati Reds prepared to welcome fans to the Great American Ball Park this season, the team’s stadium operations staff knew their impressive new 5,206-square-foot HD video board needed to show off its visual chops to prove its worth.

According to the team, its worth has shone brightly…and sharply – thanks to its partnership with DXD Sports. The multi-dimensional sports entertainment technology firm, based in Kansas City, Mo., was selected by the Reds in 2009 to be the sole provider of all in-game graphical elements throughout the stadium.

“A stadium’s HD video board is only as impressive as the graphics it displays – an HD screen and a pixilated video just wouldn’t jive,” said Sean Hopkins, founder of DXD Sports. “When a team has a video board that is among the best in the world, it needs a worthy HD graphics package to reach its full potential. We were able to deliver that quality, and then some. We have a full understanding of the technologies that are made available with a video system of this caliber. Their system and our service go hand in hand.”

The Cincinnati Reds couldn’t agree more.

“DXD Sports has been a joy to work with – from customer relations to creative output,” said Jennifer Berger, Senior Director of Entertainment, Events and Productions for the Cincinnati Reds. “The expanded capabilities of our new video boards created an enormous amount of work for their staff. And we are more than pleased with their ability to provide the full package of in-game entertainment for Reds home games.”

DXD Sports’ graphic package is not relegated only to the giant HD scoreboard – it is used throughout Great American Ball Park, including on all LED screens and fascia displays. DXD Sports also created the team’s history video, opening video, animation, crowd prompts, player headshots, graphical statistics on the scoreboard, sponsorship pieces and the fan-favorite scoreboard races.

“We were able to bring the new board to life – in high-def – for the first season,” said DXD Sports CEO Willie Lanier, Jr. “Not many companies can provide the volume that a project like this requires. But we excel at creating the complete in-game experience – for the fans, teams and sponsors.”
